Rental Agreement

Terms and Conditions

This is an agreement between you, the Lessee, and Renaissance Strings, the Lessor, for the rental (lease) of a stringed instrument as specified in the Rental application. The Lessee will make rental payments for the rent of a stringed instrument. The Lessee agrees to pay an additional $20.00 handling fee should their rental check be returned to Renaissance Strings by the bank for any reason.

The Lessee hereby agrees to notify Renaissance Strings within 15 days of any change of address, phone number, or any other change in the account status.

A basic rental includes the instrument set up to MENC standards, bow, and case. Upgrades are available at an additional cost. Instruments may be exchanged for a different size at any time with no additional fee.

The minimum rental period is three (3) months. Contracts are also available for 5, 10, or 12 month periods at a substantial savings, as shown in the rental rates fee schedule. Renaissance Strings does not pro-rate monthly fees. Any fraction of a month constitutes a full months rental.

A monthly insurance fee is added to the cost of the rental, which covers normal adjustments, expected repairs, and routine maintenance. Damage or loss due to negligence is not covered. Loss due to theft may be covered if a copy of the police report accompanies the claim. Renaissance Strings will make the Final determination of whether damage or loss is covered. We reserve the right to terminate the contract at any time due to excessive damage caused to the instrument by malicious use.

String replacement, will be the responsibility of the renter. All instruments returned to Renaissance Strings will have strings comparable to those they were set up with. If a less quality string is on it, we reserve the right to charge an additional replacement fee.

Upon expiration of the rental period, you agree to renew the contract, rent the instrument by the month, or return the instrument to us. Payment, or return of the instrument, is due the last day of expiration on your Instrument Rental Contract. If a payment is not received within 10 days after the due date, there will be a $5.00 per week late charge added to the next bill. If payments are late two months in a row, all rental fees and late charges will be charged to your credit card. In the event of non-payment, Renaissance Strings has the right repossess the instrument immediately and the Lessee will be responsible for all related charges.

This enables us to make sure that the instrument is the proper size, that you understand proper instrument care, and are happy with the instrument. It also enables us to process your payment and make sure that you understand the terms of the lease.
